In late July my husband was a patient at Longmont United Hospital. Hilary was his nurse when we learned that our daughter died unexpectedly in a Florida hospital. Hilary recognized our shock and emotional distress and immediately gave compassionate and practical care to help with our grieving. I had experienced a panic attack in response to my husband's health and the loss of our daughter. Hilary checked me physically and counseled me about follow up care. We will never forget her kindness.

...

My 89 year old mother had gallbladder surgery and developed complications. She was rushed back into surgery and then taken to the ICU. I was walked to the ICU waiting room where I sat scared, alone, and confused. Into the ICU waiting room came Hilary with words of encouragement reminding me that mom was in the best possible hands. Hugging me while I cried, she gave me the confidence that I could handle whatever came next. I will forever be grateful to Hilary for seeking me out in the ICU waiting room to offer me her kindness and compassion. She was the lifeline I so badly needed at that moment. Hilary took that extra step for me. Thank you.
