Galen was instrumental in facilitating workflows and training to the rest of our staff.
Galen is used to working in a procedural environment. However, since COVID-19 started, he has expanded his role outside of the procedural suite. He has spearheaded several workflows that have positively affected our patients. He took on registering members in KP.org and training the rest of our team. He has had the highest number of registrations in the department.
Family Medicine came in the first place and our department took second place in the medical center. We attribute this to the amount of work that Galen along with the rest of our nurses have done. Also, he volunteered to help in another project that consisted of calling patients that were affected by the shortage of Plaquenil. He, along with three others, had a list of close to 500 patients and they were able to complete it in a matter of days.
Also, the department had to adopt a process for calling patients that need to be screened for COVID-19. Galen was instrumental in facilitating workflows and training to the rest of our staff. We would also like to mention that Galen is also part of the C.S.I. team and he also swabs patients when needed in the department.
