Dear Director of Nursing at Memorial,

I wanted to commend your nursing staff for the excellent care that was provided to me during my hospital stay at your facility. I am in and out of the hospital a lot with my COPD and Congestive Heart Failure. Some of the time I am in the hospital I receive excellent care and other times I don’t. The care I received on 100 South was the BEST care I have ever received. I spent two days in the PCU and then transferred to 100 South where Gail Smith was my nurse and Melissa Barrett was my tech. They were wonderful and are to be commended for their performance. I could not have received more compassionate or outstanding care than that of Gail Smith, RN. I have to say, the next time that I have to come back to Memorial Hospital, I hope to be admitted to 100 South in the care of Gail Smith and all the wonderful staff that work on that unit.
I was so excited to hear that Gail had won the Daisy Award for Nurses. The Nurse Professional Growth and Retention Committee invited me to be a part of today’s celebration but due to the fact that I am home bound, I am not able to attend. Please convey my many thanks to Gail and all of the kind nurses, techs, and support staff on 100 South. You all are so compassionate and truly care about the patient.
