Gail is very approachable, accepting of new ideas, sharing her knowledge, and guiding her team in a way that never feels like we do not have a voice.
Gail has gone above and beyond to support her Trauma Coordinators over the last several years. Her support and compassion for her employees through personal tragedies has been overwhelmingly appreciated. She has a "we will get it figured out" attitude that really eases the pressure of the situation and helps us focus on what "needs" to be done. She leads by example which fosters a "we can do it" attitude that I haven't experienced prior to working at Mayo. Gail always approaches any situation with the care of the patient comes first and her team and co-workers are always factored into the equation. Her knowledge and commitment to her role is very apparent to those who work closely with her. She goes above and beyond to share her knowledge to support those around her to do great work.

Leading by example is one thing I will always credit Gail for teaching me in my role. Gail is very approachable, accepting of new ideas, sharing her knowledge, and guiding her team in a way that never feels like we do not have a voice. She is the first one to share information regarding professional development and is very supportive of her team in continuing to grow professionally. To say she supports her team feels like an understatement! Gail motivates her staff with regular rounding, team meetings, and always brings a fresh approach to solving issues. Her positive and caring attitude is next to none. She motivates us to not only want to do better, but to go above and beyond ourselves due to her leadership and support.

Gail has been the Trauma Manager for many years and has worked tirelessly through many challenges both personally and professionally. I am very appreciative for the opportunity to recognize Gail because I fear her hard work, professionalism, compassion, and caring methods could be very underappreciated or perhaps even unknown because so much of her work is behind the scenes.
