This student has been a wonderful example of selfless service in caring for the community this semester and has been a true joy to all. The student exemplifies the characteristics of a professional nurse in that they are knowledgeable, skilled, caring, and compassionate. Service was clearly demonstrated on numerous occasions during their time at the DeWitt School of Nursing.

Recently, the community class attended an event for children. The activities for children were numerous targeting promoting healthy lifestyles. Among the fun activities was a face painting station. This student tirelessly painted the faces of many boys and girls, even taking special requests. Additionally, faculty commented on the student’s kindness in that not only were they amazing in clinical, but they also made a point to check on peers and faculty to see how their day was going. For many reasons, this student is very deserving of the DAISY Award.
