She lives the values of the VA. She not only takes excellent care of the veterans but she also is dedicated to teaching.
Fe has been a nurse for 45 years, unfortunately, I have only had the privilege of knowing her for the past 3 years. In that time I find myself wanting to emulate her work ethic and friendly demeanor. She treats every single Veteran with the utmost respect and dedication. She will often skip her lunch because the veterans need her attention before their surgeries even though there are other RNs who could take care of the patient. It’s more than just a job to her. She lives the values of the VA. She not only takes excellent care of the veterans but she also is dedicated to teaching. She teaches new hospital RNs, CRNA students, and medical residents to start IVs. She goes out of her way to make sure that everyone that needs to learn gets the opportunity to start an IV. She brings out the fake teaching arm, she goes above and beyond. We get phone calls from all the hospital units asking for Fe when they are not able to access an IV on one of their patients. She never hesitates or complains about the request, she just does it!! Her attitude is the same when it comes to any work that is needed in the department. You will not hear Fe moan or groan about what needs to be done. The veterans love her and often request for her to be their nurse.

Note: This is Fe's 2nd DAISY Award!
