Accountability, integrity, hard work, and excellence are important to her in her daily practice. She has earned respect from everyone.
This Manager has been such a welcome addition to our nursing leadership team. The pandemic threw multiple challenges her way. Whether it be staffing, quality metrics, declining care experiences scores, equipment bundles, staff engagement, or crashing patients, amongst others. She perseveres through each hardship with poise, compassion, and caring and maintains a can-do attitude necessary to lead in difficult times in health care. She turns roadblocks and hurdles into improvement opportunities. When her team and circumstances demand, she is not shy to jump in and help with patient care. For example, she received chaotic calls from the staffing office in the middle of the night asking for help. Without hesitation, she reported to work, to help with patient care. She leads by example. Her team and her peers know they can rely on her. Accountability, integrity, hard work, and excellence are important to her in her daily practice. She has earned respect from everyone. She maintains and supports a collaborative and cooperative work environment. She believes in building relationships and finds creative solutions to difficult problems. If I delegate a task to her, I know that it will be followed through appropriately. MDs, Educators, and Leaders enjoy working with her. She models servant leadership and is slowly building a culture of trust within her team.  This is Evangeline Rico, our ICU Manager. Thank you, Vangie for choosing to work at SSF.
