Eva demonstrates a very calm, patient demeanor when working with her patients and fellow staff members for that matter. She embodies what nurses should be; a person who makes the patient feel important and cared about. Eva helped one of the MRI patients out in to the hall and stopped to see how she was doing. The patient, unable to move, needed to urinate so Eva, with assistance, helped the patient with a bed pan and then cleaned her.

I came in to work after the loss of a loved one and was still very sad. When Eva saw me, she gave me a huge hug and proceeded to say a prayer with me for a friend. This kind of care and compassion is what Eva shows everyday to patients and co-workers alike.

No words can express the admiration I have for Eva, not only as an outstanding nurse, but also as a friend and confidant. When our friend and co-worker Roel Castillo passed away I was very angry at the person who did it, but she made me see the situation in a different way and now I can forgive him and do not have anger anymore in me for him. Only a true friend and a true believer in the lord could do that. Thank you Eva.

This facility does MRI breast scans. We receive patients that have a history of breast cancer or just recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I’ve had numerous patients that just break down in tears. They are emotionally distraught. They are in disbelief that this is happening to them or just scared of more bad news post examination. This is where Eva comes in. She has helped me help my patients to understand that there is always hope. We are here to help. I’ve watched Eva’s compassion towards patient needs, she’s so understanding of patient’s emotions that I can’t put it in words. She’s very caring. Let’s just say she can bring down Goliath without a sling and a rock.
