Estella has been an integral part of our department. She currently works under the Wyoming heart and vascular clinic as the heat failure nurse, but in the cath lab hold room Stel also continually assists with direct patient care. As a heart failure nurse she audits charts with a fine tooth comb and always ensures that everything is documented appropriately for core measures. If Stel discovers a fall out in a heart failure patient, she goes above and beyond to ensure the documentation is present. Stel facilitates the documentation by visiting with the primary care physician and educating them on what documentation is needed for core measure heart failure patients.

Stel is always willing to lend a helping hand not only as a Heart Failure nurse but also in the hold room even if she is busy with her day. She visits with patients and families to assure to all needs are being meet. Although she hasn't worked in the hold room for over three years patients still ask about her and want to know how she's doing. She certainly leaves a lasting impression on people. Stel is a very compassionate and competent nurse. She exudes true care standards in her daily practice by providing quality care and being a team player.

An example of her amazing care and being a team player is when she chose to stay late with a patient that was very anxious and struggling with her recent diagnosis. The patient found out she needed to wear a life vest and was frightened to tears. The patient was so anxious regarding this that teaching was very difficult. Stel stood by the patient's side the entire time. You could see Stel's compassionate care for the patient, when the patient cried Stel did as well. Not only had she bonded with the patient she also helped the cath lab out because she stayed with the patient when an emergency STEMI came in. She made a lasting impression with the patient and really showed what an amazing nurse really is.
