Ernie was tender and caring. Detailed in his explanations and made sure that I understood what was happening at every moment. When I needed him, he was there no matter where he was or what time it was. When he came in the mornings, he came in with a big smile and the interaction was great. I felt that I was more than just a number to my nurse, I was an "actual person".
Coming from a medical field myself, at times we forget the emotional aspect that this job entails. It takes more than just the intellectual intelligence to perform this job. We need to put forth more of the emotion as so that our patients know that we feel for them and that is exactly what Ernie did for me. He went through every step and every emotion that I was going through. He listened to me even if he knew he was short on time. He was polite. He would let me know in advance if he had other patients or pending work. Always courteous. Ernie made a difference in my recovery. I never had to ask or call Ernie, he was always on top of his game. Always on time and showed up before the alarms beeped. All I can say is he was just awesome. I wish him well in all his future endeavors and to never sell himself short.
