Emily Warr has gone above and beyond to ensure the safety and comfort of her patients and co-workers. Over the last few weeks she has spent countless hours in the PICU educating both nurses and patient families about ECMO. The ECMO circuit is complicated and intimidating to those unfamiliar with it and Emily has helped ease the anxiety of staff and families. The PICU has had an unprecedented amount of patients on ECMO all at the same time, and Emily has led the team with a calm and reassuring demeanor. Working well over her typical 40 hours, Emily has shown dedication and passion for her profession by either staying well into the night for a new line placement or just sitting with her team and providing reassurance. Her co-workers count on her for support and the families respect her knowledge and expertise. Though Emily does not care for patients directly, she provides an invaluable service of stress-relief for their families. Her efforts have not gone unnoticed and the PICU is incredibly grateful for her commitment.
