Emily continues to identify areas of improvement to ensure the team is providing the best care possible.
I am humbled by Emily’s continued extraordinary care, commitment to education, patient advocacy, and compassion toward her team and her patients. She is currently involved with two different shared leadership councils. She develops a “Think Tank” Newsletter for a service line. Emily continues to identify areas of improvement to ensure the team is providing the best care possible. She is an active member of a professional association. She is also on the education board for the IgNS (Immunoglobulin National Society), where she regularly develops educational materials, speaks at conferences, and shares her knowledge with her coworkers. She always shares educational opportunities with her colleagues, patients, caregivers, and me.

Emily is a true leader; she is knowledgeable and an expert in her field. She is respectful to all individuals, continues to advocate for patients, respects everyone, and collaborates with her team to assure excellence in patient care. Recently, Emily had a patient’s significant other call multiple times regarding the patient’s treatment. The significant other did not agree with the patient’s diagnosis or the treatment chosen by the patient. Emily sat down with the patient to understand their concerns, to ensure they did not feel pressured to receive the treatment, and answer any questions they may have had. Emily then contacted the doctor to address concerns about family dynamics and the lack of support the patient was receiving. Emily took it a step further to notify me of the issue and contacted social work for further assistance for the patient. This is just one of the many times I have been humbled by Emily’s actions as a compassionate nurse.

Emily is an incredible nurse and role model! I have learned so much from her. I look forward to Emily advocating for her patients, initiating process improvement plans, and ensuring her patients are provided with world-class care.
