Emily showed so much compassion it was unbelievable. I am so thankful she was able to care for my mom.
My mom was in the hospital for a short time in November, from a Sunday to Wednesday, where she was discharged home on hospice. Emily was her RN both Monday and Tuesday and she is amazing. On Tuesday family was allowed to visit because it was an end-of-life situation. Emily showed so much compassion it was unbelievable. I am so thankful she was able to care for my mom.

This unfortunately was a time in my mom’s life when she was very confused and unable to really say much due to her lung cancer that had progressed into her brain and cerebrospinal fluid. Emily still spoke to my mom with respect and maintained my mom’s dignity as a patient. Emily made sure that the family had what they needed and was helpful in any way possible. It is because of nurses like Emily that this world is a better place.

I am in my second semester of nursing school and I hope to have the compassion that Emily has. It is truly evident that she cares for her patients and truly takes pride in her role as an RN. Thank you, Emily, for everything you're an awesome, amazing, human, and as I said in the hospital never lose your compassion. It can be hard to find. My mom passed away that Friday surrounded by her loving family.
