Ellen is an expert, kind, and loving nurse. She is patient with the students who are caring for patients for the first time, including assessing a real patient, completing medications, and doing procedures for the first time.
I would like to nominate an Extraordinary Nurse, Ellen Richards, for the DAISY Award. Ellen is a vital member of the college faculty at Bryan College of Health Sciences. She is responsible for always completing competencies and keeping up-to-date on professional activities.

Ellen is committed to Bryan Health Core values. Ellen demonstrates the core values every day. She demonstrates one team, one purpose by supporting faculty and students in their learning outcomes, asking coworkers if they need help, and helping staff on the clinical unit with patient care. She is constantly volunteering to jump in to be part of the task force.

Ellen spreads a smile, goes the extra mile by helping others find what they are looking for, jumps in to help visitors navigate the environment, and helps with tasks that need to be completed. Ellen knows the way, shows the way on a daily basis.

Ellen lives it, owns it by being positive and loving. She demonstrates integrity by knowing the policies and procedures of Bryan Health. She does not gossip, stops gossip, and keeps a professional relationship all the while by being caring.

Ellen cares like crazy by being so encouraging and helpful. She has the ability to show up with a kind word to students and coworkers. She is the mom of the nursing care 1 faculty always checking in. Ellen is the coworker you want to sit by at a meeting. When you are going through a tough time, she always has a warm smile, hug, or kind words to say.

Ellen has enjoyed the journey, especially during her nursing career. She has been a nurse and educator for over 30 years. She continues to demonstrate professionalism and love for the nursing profession.

Ellen is an expert, kind, and loving nurse. She is patient with the students who are caring for patients for the first time, including assessing a real patient, completing medications, and doing procedures for the first time. She is not shy about bringing up a concern or changing the conversation when needed. She truly is a gem to be part of the Bryan College of Health Sciences team.
