Beth is one of the most amazing nurses and I am extremely grateful for her impact on my mother's care. My mom was brought into the ER and admitted. She was placed on an acute care floor, in which she was lucky enough to have Beth as her nurse. I arrived the next morning and was warmly greeted by Beth.
As a nurse myself, I know how busy the mornings can be and she did not hesitate to speak with me about my mom's condition, her concerns, and listen to my input. There could not have been a better example of patient and family-centered care. Beth immediately recognized that my mom needed a higher level of care and contacted the resource RN. Another nurse came to the room and further assessed my mom. They collaborated together with the physician and advocated for my mom to ensure the sepsis protocol was initiated.
Within minutes, they implemented every intervention that was needed to ensure my mom received the right care. My mom was then evaluated by the CCU physician and transferred to a CCU bed. I truly believe that Beth and the other nurse saved my mom and ensured that she was cared for in the correct way. I am extremely grateful for the genuine compassion they showed for my mom and our family and thankful for their critical thinking and rapid intervention. These nurses encompass what the nursing profession is about, and I am so very appreciative that they were involved in my mother's care.

Note: This is Beth's 4th DAISY Award!
