Elle is an incredibly kind, considerate, and caring person who works so hard for her patients and for every member of the OPAT team.
We would like to celebrate and shout about the extraordinary work that Elle has done for the OPAT team and for the NHS over the past 30 plus years, WOW, what an amazing achievement! She is set to retire this year and the whole team would like to send her off with a DAISY Award to celebrate and honor her passion, dedication, and commitment to nursing.

Elle is truly an exceptional nurse, nothing is too much trouble for her and no challenge is too great. She is a ‘doer’, working tirelessly for the benefit of her patients and the service. At the heart of everything she does is the patient. She passionately wants them to receive the best care possible and will go out of her way to ensure this happens.

Elle is an incredibly kind, considerate, and caring person who works so hard for her patients and for every member of the OPAT team. Thoughtfulness and kindheartedness are her norms. She quietly leaves kind, caring, and lovely gestures for her colleagues, for instance, a member of staff was upset, and the following week this member of staff found a lovely written, supportive card and beautiful candle in her drawer, what a caring and lovely thing to do.

She is always so incredibly supportive and helpful; keen to share her knowledge and skills when asked. She has a wealth of expertise and is incredibly skilled in all aspects of patient care. She always goes above and beyond to deliver the highest standards of care, not just delivering excellence in IV antibiotic therapy but also ensuring patients have everything they need.

Patients always talk about how wonderful she is and how she always goes above and beyond for them, excelling in giving truly holistic care. She works so hard and is always professional and calm; treating everyone she meets with dignity and respect. She is constantly busy making sure that everything is completed and up-to-date; a trait that the whole team benefits from. I really enjoy taking over patient care from her; everything is up-to-date, tidy and care has always been delivered to an exceptional standard.

Elle has been very proactive within the Shared Governance team. Once she leads on a project it is completed to the highest standards. She has been key in developing The DAISY and Tulip Award Programs within OPAT, visiting other settings, and developing a display for staff feedback. This is exceptional and DAISY nominations have increased as a result.

Additionally, she has developed a new system for stock ordering, and implemented nurse call bells in the patient treatment rooms, essential for patient safety. She excels in monitoring standards throughout OPAT related to Infection Control including handwashing audits and compliance with cleaning standards. She expects the highest standards and always gives constructive feedback in a gentle, supportive way. We have no hesitation in nominating Elle. She is a wonderful nurse, friend, colleague, and lovely lady who truly is a DAISY Nurse.
