She was so gentle, sweet, and kind and assured me that everything would be fine. She was so confident in what she was doing, and her confidence transferred to me.
I am a 55-year-old male, and I have been undergoing dialysis in ManilaMed since February 2020. You can imagine my dread and trepidation when I was confined in those early days so I could start my dialysis treatment. I was so fearful of what was to come that I was crying to my priest-friend before the procedure because I thought I was going to die. Then came the fateful day when I was to start my dialysis. The nurse in charge of me was Nurse DM. She was so gentle, sweet, and kind and assured me that everything would be fine. She was so confident in what she was doing, and her confidence transferred to me. I sailed through those first few sessions, getting more and more comfortable in the procedure, primarily because of the proficiency and professionalism of the nurses of the dialysis unit, but Nurse DM in particular. Here I am, almost four years in, and she has never wavered in her care and compassion for me and the patients in the unit. I have even seen her training future nurses, and her skill and intelligence shine through. She always drops by my bed (even though she isn’t my nurse) to say “hi”, and I am always so grateful to her for how she has been a steady influence in my treatments. Thank you so much, Nurse DM!
