A patient died at the beginning of shift, she had no funeral arrangements made and the family had little money. She was a young woman and the family was devasted. Every nurse who had cared for her over the previous weeks cared deeply for her. The morning she died, Diane Marines was her nurse. She made call after call to funeral homes in the area to try and find the most reasonable priced arrangements for the cremation. She also made call after call to try and find a minister in the area who would agree to come and minister the family in their sadness, she finally found a pastor in Buckley who would come. She promised the family she would continue to attend their loved one's body until the funeral home arrived and treated the body and altar they had created with reverence.

She went over and above the expected 'nursing care.' She was an inspiration to observe.
