She is not only highly skilled, but she is one of the most compassionate nurses I've had the pleasure of working with. This was made even more apparent after the relationship she was able to build with one of her patients. We had a patient in his final stages. This patient could no longer move, talk, or breathe. He had to use a ventilator to keep his lungs full of oxygen, and his only way to communicate was with his eyes. He could spell out words using eye-tracking technology to communicate his needs. As you might imagine, the amount of time, patience, and work it took to provide quality care for this patient was astronomical. This didn't bother her. She spent as much time as needed to make sure this patient was comfortable. Even when wearing her mask, she still had a smile. This patient saw this too. Although he couldn't move much, every time he got to see her, he had the biggest smile. They became so close that she knew what to change about his position before he could even try to communicate. It was truly mesmerizing. I believe she is a DAISY Nurse because of the extraordinary care she always provided for this patient and all of her patients. She created such a high level of trust and respect with this patient.
