Let me begin by saying that I am a nurse and will admit that nurses make very poor patients. I was transferred from another facility with a lower GI bleed and possible scoping. Der was my nurse for the two days I was there, and she was excellent! I was crabby and not a star patient. I was very anxious as I have an unusual family situation. I am currently the guardian of my 9-year-old grandson and he was foremost on my mind. He had been sick earlier the night I got sick with a temp of 103 and I was very worried about him, plus I did not want him to be frightened by me leaving in an ambulance. She was very patient with me and understanding. I was so anxious that when I got discharged my blood pressure went up and she called the doctor to get me some blood pressure medication and anxiety medication so I could go home as planned. Always smiling, compassionate, and understanding. I can't thank her enough for making my stay there as pleasant as could be. I am also an Aspirus nurse and I hope that I display as much compassion, understanding and the willingness to go the extra mile for all my residents!
