I arrived at the Salem Program wearing only the clothes I had on. Debbie knew I didn’t have anyone that could bring me any of my clothes from my home. She gave me shorts and pants on the first day. On the second day, I walked into my room to find two more shirts and a bunch of new socks. She has done this for other Veterans also. If a Veteran has any needs she will do her best to help them. She is very kind, caring, and compassionate. She also performs her nursing job with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. She is an example of what a Nurse should be like in my judgment. Thankfully in my 20 years of getting all my healthcare at the Salem VAMC, she is but one of a great staff of doctors, nurses, and all the other staff employed here that goes all the way to housekeeping. Just about everyone has been friendly, courteous, and helpful whenever asked anything. It has been a pleasure to come here and I am proud to say to anyone that I receive all my healthcare at the Salem VAMC.
