Danielle was my first nurse and contact in the ICU. She was extremely attentive to my needs as well as my family. She was one of the most compassionate persons I have encountered. She recognized how nervous and scared I was when I was given the diagnosis based on my low sodium. She explained the seriousness of the situation but also alleviated my fears by answering my questions. I also appreciate how kind she was to my family and friends and answered their questions too and alleviated their fears by engaging in conversations with my family. She and my sister got in a long conversation about my niece who is going to school to be a communication specialist. Danielle shared that her daughter had cochlear implants and because of their mutual interest and gave my niece suggestions of where she might apply to school. My family is important to me and this meant a lot to me. She is arguably the best nurse in the ICU. I also had the opportunity to see how she interacted with other patients and families and showed the same qualities. Thank you, Danielle.
