If Danielle wasn't as attentive to him not only clinically but personally and his "normal" we might not have the outcome we did!
My son was involved in a terrible farming accident. We were life-flighted for injuries. On day 3 of our stay my son woke up having a good morning, pain controlled, in good spirits, vital signs good. As the day went on the day changed…he just wasn't the same boy as he was in the morning. Nothing really had changed with clinical signs, vitals were still good, the belly was ok. Doctors came in for evening rounds and his assessment was ok except our nurse Danielle spoke up to say, "He is just not the same boy, I think something is different." The doctor listened and ordered an x-ray STAT because of the belly pain and Danielle's assessment. A few tests later my child was in surgery! Surgery went well and he came back to his room and his belly pain was gone. He was on the road to recovery. If Danielle wasn't as attentive to him not only clinically but personally and his "normal" we might not have the outcome we did! She is an absolute stand above the rest nurse!

She was no longer our nurse after this shift but we tried to have her but she was needed elsewhere. She still made several attempts to check on him and me as well. She even helped when his NG tube was discontinued and we were not her patient.

She goes above and beyond! She truly is a wonderful nurse and a blessing to each child and family she encounters. As a parent with a child in the hospital, it is scary and you don't want to leave but sometimes you have to. With a nurse like Danielle, it gives parents peace of mind and security to place our child in her care knowing we can trust her to give the utmost fantastic care and love as we would ourselves.

Danielle is our super nurse and without her, my child would not have had such an amazing recovery of body and soul! She is a diamond DAISY! Children's Hospital and the nursing world are lucky to have her!
