Dana took her keys and walked through the garage until she found the car five floors up from where they were.
Dana Romah consistently goes out of her way to help patients and their families in her clinician role. She makes sure they receive good communication and facilitates excellent care. She often keeps in touch with patients and families long after they leave the hospital. There are many examples of things she has done for others over the years, but one recent act stands out.

Dana formed a close relationship with the wife of a COVID positive patient throughout a long hospital stay, supporting her through good days, bad days, and the worst day. This patient, unfortunately, passed away in the unit. After providing emotional support and comfort, Dana asked if there was more she can do. The patient’s wife’s car had been in the parking garage for three weeks while she stayed at Family House during her husband’s hospitalization. Dana helped the wife gather her belongings and walked with her to parking and security to get a validation. She then helped her carry her belongings to the garage. The car was not where she thought she left it. By this point, the patient’s wife was physically and mentally exhausted. Dana took her keys and walked through the garage until she found the car five floors up from where they were. She brought the car down to the patient’s wife, got her packed up, and on her way home.

I am so proud to work with Dana. She supports our patients and her coworkers by following her heart, treating others the way she would her family, and living our values.
