We are proud to submit Cristelle Nixon. Cristelle’s director nominated her and says, “Cristelle goes above and beyond every day she is here. She stays late to ensure the patient’s discharge is complete. She is caring, compassionate and a true patient advocate. She keeps the patient 1st in all she does, respecting their wishes in healthcare decision.” Cristelle’s co-workers say this about her: Last month, I had a patient that received discharge orders late in the day. Cris could have left for the day, but she overheard that this patient needed assistance with transportation home. She spent over one hour arranging transportation and home health. She is respectful and thorough… It is a pleasure to work with her! We recently had a patient from an outlying community who didn’t have the right C-PAP machine while admitted. By day two this became a crisis and Cristelle took charge on behalf of the patient and worked with our local DME provider to ensure the patient’s needs came first – I was very impressed with her compassion and professionalism! Cristelle thinks outside of the box to develop creative discharge plans with limited resources. She is always there to help her co-workers and understands the role of the patient advocate and the multidiscipline approach to patient care. Cristelle is truly DAISY Nurse!
