Where do I start ? Courtney is such an empathetic, thoughtful, and competent nurse. She moved to the PICU from the rehab unit and has been bringing her joy of being a nurse with her. She was a primary nurse on a very challenging hem onc patient who was in PICU for over 6 months. You would often see Courtney packing up all the patient's equipment, eliciting help from the RT, and pushing her ventilated patient outside in the courtyard so she could get some fresh air. She would stay over to help bathe her in the shower room with the next shift nurse as it was a big endeavor to do solo. Courtney is also a team player and never is unwilling to help her fellow staff. Courtney is a testament to a nurse's skill and dedication to the nursing profession. These are only brief snippets of her dedication to her patients and staff. She is truly the nurse we should all strive to become and I believe the poster nurse for this award.

Courtney demonstrates compassion, patience, and generosity every day with all we patients and families and in some very challenging circumstances. I have seen her go above and beyond to support patients and families time and time again as well as extend such kindness and grace toward her co workers.
