Cody is just such a Rockstar and, in my estimation, he has leadership skills that make him an integral part of our leadership team.
I just wanted to share a few things about my interactions with Cody this weekend.
From Friday afternoon through the weekend Cody reached out to me on several occasions. His management of these situations and his actions to refer staff to me was greatly appreciated.
One particular patient situation involved a young Medicaid patient who was having a retinal issue. Cody contacted me and we set up a plan for the management of the patient to ensure the patient would get what he needed in an effort to save his vision. Cody arranged with the Retinal Specialist to have the patient sent to the physician's office in the MOB for a procedure and he followed through on every detail I requested regarding post evaluation care as well as education for staff on what to look for as we do not routinely deal with these issues as an inpatient.
I appreciated being included in messages regarding issues over the weekend. His proactive approach to safety issues is commendable. The other issue that stands out is the PCU patient who was making allegations of abuse. Cody kept me apprised of the situation and we brainstormed on the next steps as well as discussing Metro involvement. He is just such a Rockstar and, in my estimation, he has leadership skills that make him an integral part of our leadership team.
