Nurse Christine came in after I had been a patient for 12 hours. Because of what I felt like all day, from reports, tests, and news that I had a life-altering change in me, I was scared, exhausted, and empty. But her first interaction with me woke up my spirit. I was wondering who this nurse was? I felt a sense of relief in her presence but also felt fear from her sternness.

Soon, I learned that Christine didn’t just care about her job, but she cared about me. She did not just want to stick and poke me with needles, but instead she wanted me to understand why she was doing it. She encourages me to ask questions about things that I don’t understand to make sure that I feel comfortable with all the treatment that I receive. She is quite funny but while maintaining her professionalism. She enlightened me, encouraged me, and gave me a sense of trust.

The compassion Christine showed will help my health recovery in such a positive way. I would take this experience with me into after care. Thank you nurse Christine!
