January 2019 Honoree
christiane zeze, RN
I had come to St Luke's SL in pre-dawn hours with severe pain in my stomach. Upon being admitted, Christiane was my nurse. She was extremely professional and had a calming effect. Once tests were done, the finding was that there was a mass in the intestines. The doctor gave me the news and stepped out for a few moments. Christiane was still in the room. I couldn't speak a word. I lay there stunned, tears rolling down my cheeks. I dare not look to the left nor to the right. I was just staring above. Christiane provided a reassuring touch and all I could do was nod. She told me that she would visit me upon admittance. I remember thinking that was kind of her, yet I knew as an ER nurse her schedule must be hectic. To my surprise, she did visit me, more than once! She shared her concerns, thoughts, and prayers. I don't know how she found the time in her schedule to visit me, but she kept her word!
Thank you Christiane for your thoughtfulness, compassion, and care! And, thank you to all the medical professionals at St. Luke's SL. I definitely appreciate the care received during my two weeks stay. I thank God for each one of you.
