Christa Creekmore received the DAISY Award for going above and beyond for a patient, according to her nominator. According to the nomination, Creekmore ensured that a patient's basic needs were taken care of by retrieving the patient's medication and paying for the copay out-of-pocket to ensure the patient wouldn't have any further delays in treatment.
Creekmore noticed that a change was needed in the medication retrieval process to minimize delays in treatment for patients, so she asked that the process be reviewed. In doing so, Creekmore helped the health care team improve patient safety and ensure that patients receive education and medication in a timely manner.
