When I was assigned to work in the PCU, Chelsea went above and beyond not only for myself but for family members of a patient. I have asked Chelsea to assist me with a patient which she has done without hesitation. She assists with bathing a patient and placing her on a commode.
Later that day a patient was in their transitioning stage and Chelsea went over and beyond with the family. She informed them of everything that was going on with their mother. She told the family once they left, she would call them personally and keep them updated on their mother. Chelsea did just that! She called the family and told them the status of their mother. The next day once their mother was in her last breath, Chelsea stayed in the room, prayed with the family, hugged each family member and stayed until they left. Chelsea informed the family she would take care of their mother and make sure the postmortem care is taken care of personally by herself. Chelsea kept her word. Seeing this type of compassion and teamwork from a Nurse was outstanding.
Chelsea has a great attitude with a warm heart. Her work ethic goes beyond her nursing responsibilities. She made sure she treated this patient as her own mother. This touched my heart! I am sure the family appreciated Chelsea's concerns and mannerisms caring for their mother. She has done things without even being asked as well as offering help.
