The patient’s daughter was always worried about her mom and could not sleep, but one day, she told me she was so grateful for everything I did for her mom. She was able to sleep well because she trusted me when I was around the patient.
First of all, I am deeply honored to receive a DAISY Award. Thanks to Paolo Phaholyothin Hospital for recognizing the importance of nurses and establishing this award.

The efforts I put into my job every day to help the patients be safe and have smiles on their faces lead to countless memorable stories. There were some heartwarming moments while I was working in the nursing home; I was determined to take the best care of elderly patients because they were vulnerable and unstable.

From what I remember, there was a granny who was disoriented at night and could not sleep. I consulted with the neurologist to prescribe sleeping pills to the patient and checked the patient’s condition afterward. On duty, I always took notes of this patient’s sleeping cycle and medication details. Moreover, additional assistance, such as changing diapers, was my responsibility every time, not only in the morning but also late at night.

The patient’s daughter was always worried about her mom and could not sleep, but one day, she told me she was so grateful for everything I did for her mom. She was able to sleep well because she trusted me when I was around the patient.

These words of admiration from the patients and their relatives motivate me every day. I believe that even if I have to work harder or stay awake late at night, the smiles I get from others are priceless and worth every effort I put in.
