Cathy Zabroski really goes above and beyond for her patients and fellow staff members. Most recently, Cathy offered to come in on her day off to open a third OR on a Saturday when there were multiple surgeries booked with high acuity patients. Her presence allowed for at least three patients to have their surgery safely during daylight hours.
In terms of nursing compassion, Cathy continues to use her creativity and safety practices to improve patient care. There was a patient in the pre-operative holding area who did not want to get on the stretcher to be wheeled into the OR. Cathy had the foresight to find a wagon to put the patient in that would help calm anxiety and mobilize that patient safely.
She is an exemplary nurse that continues to push herself professionally with two certifications and recently achieving PEAK II status. Cathy is a true DAISY Nurse.
