My sister was hospitalized due to complications with her chemotherapy for liver cancer. Carrie was very attentive to her and frequently came in to ask if there was anything she could do. Carrie even went out and got a flavored slushy to entice my sister to take in fluids.
As my sister's condition slipped into a comatose state, Carrie's attention did not diminish. She would talk softly into my sister's ear and watch her face for a reaction when asking her about her need for pain relief. Carrie also was very attentive to our extended family. As more and more people arrived, Carrie retrieved chairs for them to sit.
When it came time for my sister to go to hospice, Carrie was very concerned about my sister's comfort while being moved onto the ambulance cart. She also made sure that my sister was given pain meds in a timely manner to assure her comfort in transition. Thank you, Carrie, for your compassionate care.
