They say a mother will do anything for their child and a mother will. I did. I flew 23 hours from Nigeria contracting the entire flight. I just got off the plane where I was being detained. My documents and cell phone were all taken away and only being in the country less than an hour, I had no way to contact my husband or family. They brought me here scared and unsure of what was going to happen to me, my baby. My nurse kept me calm. Carolyn was the only one who talked to me and treated me like a person, not a criminal. I had emergency surgery. When I woke up, Carolyn was there telling me everything will be ok. My pain was unbearable, but she helped me with it. Carolyn also helped me in finding my husband and informed him of everything that happened. When border patrol came to my room and told me I only have a limited time before I get deported out, Carolyn made me feel like it was not the end of my world. My husband got sent back 3 days later. Carolyn came back the next day to see how I was. Never did I expect such caring treatment for a stranger. Nothing mattered to her but keeping me and my baby safe and healthy. There is nothing I could do to ever repay Carolyn for her kindness and fast actions to save my baby and me.
