She is what a nurse should be not only clinically with an outstanding work ethic but in the way she shows care and compassion for her patients and their families not only during their care but behind the scenes.
Our office continually sees Brenda go above and beyond for our patients. She has been known to deliver supplies to a patient’s home after hours and to call to check on them on her own time after work and on weekends. One patient, in particular, was losing weight due to his recent diagnosis. Brenda made him care packages of healthy shakes and weight-gaining foods several times. She spends extra time on the phone helping to guide patients who need that extra care. She feels compassion towards her patients that go above and beyond general office care often showing tears when they are in distress. She is what a nurse should be not only clinically with an outstanding work ethic but in the way she shows care and compassion for her patients and their families not only during their care but behind the scenes.

Imagine my surprise when I went for an appointment and Brenda was the nurse. I have known her all her life, she grew up just down the road from me. I was and am a nervous wreck. She made things go a lot easier. I am 85 years old and never had surgery before, so you might imagine I was very worried and concerned. Brenda went above and beyond to keep me on a somewhat even keel. She went to surgery with me and kept me as calm as could be expected, and stayed with me until back in the recovery room. My husband and I appreciate her more than you will ever know. Here is an exceptional little girl I have known all her life all grown up and now a compassionate nurse. What else can I say? She is a star in our book. When asked why she became a nurse, her answer was, “I love being a nurse” and it shows in her work.
