Bob "is" what Nursing is. He demonstrates empathy, compassion and teamwork. He maintains a calmness during the most stressful situations and will take the time to help other staff when needed. His spirit brightens his patient's rooms as soon as he walks in. His genuine smile and eagerness to please them and their families is always there. As a coworker, he will never say no or wait; it just isn't in his vocabulary.

He maintains dignity and provides hope to his patients. When they want to give up, his sweet gentle sense of humor gives them the will to try. Bob seems to have that calling that certain nurses have. He gives all of himself to his profession and truly demonstrates clinical excellence. Bob is a humble gentle soul; an unsung hero, always placing his coworkers above him, but we know he's the best.
