I would like to recommend this student for this DAISY Award for showing immense passion for the nursing field during his clinical rotation. I believe he has shown selflessness and dedication to the nursing profession and his patients. One day at the clinical site, this student was very interested in a newly diagnosed patient who was only 14 years old. This student took it upon himself to do research and asked me to assist him with patient education with the permission of the healthcare provider. He was able to educate this patient and his mother on Type 1 diabetes successfully. The student is the first to volunteer and always asks what he can do to help. He has shown compassion and attentiveness to his patients and their families.
