My husband was admitted for a double coronary artery bypass. When I was finally allowed to visit my husband, it was quite scary to see all the tubes on him, etc. While at the ICU one nurse, in particular, noticed how emotional and frightened I was; scared with uncertainties racing through my mind, etc. Nurse Ben Rolfs came up to me and explained the needed care, my husband was in good hands, and not to worry which was comforting. Nurse Ben not only provided the care on the medical side but also created that trust which helped truly relieve my worrisome case. He was detail-oriented explaining what, why, when, etc.
Today, Tuesday, Nurse Ben was assigned one on one with my husband. His encouraging abilities helped him with the next step of making progress getting up to sit on the chair next to his bed. It was great to witness how Nurse Ben carried himself with that heart of compassion, always aiming to assure there was progress made on the care for my beloved husband. I was at peace knowing that I was able to step out of the room just to get a bite to eat and attend the 11:30 am mass service knowing that Nurse Ben was providing the best care for my husband. God has chosen him to be a caring and excellent nurse to help the sick. Thank you. He is a "Healer" along with all the nurses and docs at Providence. Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!
