We had an Infusion Therapy patient arrive who was obviously anxious. She was receiving a new medication and on her way to her appointment a light came on in her vehicle, so she brought her owner's manual in with her to try to figure out what was going on. Austin took the time to sit down with her to explain the new medication, risks, benefits, side effects, etc. with the patient and then went through her owner's manual with her to help try to figure out what was going on with her car. He even went out to the parking lot to look at her car with her after her appointment. The patient was very grateful and less anxious by the time she left. This is just one of many examples of Austin going above and beyond for his patients. He always shows this kind of patience and compassion at work. He is a blessing to his patients and an inspiration to the nurses around him.
