She provided emotional support when we were upset about the diagnosis and celebrated with us when a favorable diagnosis was reached.
Ann has been our nurse for several days. She has been so kind and professional. Ann made sure my husband (the patient) was comfortable, taken care of, and made sure all of his needs were met. We came to the hospital expecting my husband to have knee surgery to correct a knee surgery that was done in October of 2022. Before he was taken to surgery, they realized he had other medical issues that needed to be resolved. He was admitted to the hospital and moved to the 5th floor. Ann met me at the elevators and escorted me to my husband's room. Ann displays the "care" in the caregiver. She explained everything that she needed to do to my husband and me in detail. She provided emotional support when we were upset about the diagnosis and celebrated with us when a favorable diagnosis was reached. Today is Sunday and we have been here since Thursday. Ann has been with us for three days from Thursday to Saturday. We have never felt a connection with a healthcare provider. She took care of my husband. She made him feel like he was her only patient and never rushed while doing anything he needed when doctors ordered tests. She was gentle and made sure she caused as little pain as possible. She took care of me (the patient's wife). She provided me with sheets, blankets, and pillows. She provided towels for showers. We could not have asked for a better nurse. Ann makes patients and family members feel like friends and family. We felt so comfortable with Ann and we have missed her upbeat personality and constant anticipation of our needs. She deserves an award and so much more. She is a good nurse but also a good person. I hope we have her as a nurse if we are here by the time her shift returns her to our floor. Please know we found her experience, professional style, and her caring disposition more than we ever expected.

Note: This is Ann's 3rd DAISY Award!
