My son C has Angelman Syndrome and is nonverbal. He has been in the PICU for 5 days now. C has sensory issues and can have many behaviors. He really can't be left alone at all which makes it difficult. It's really just his dad and I who have every minute covered. We need to find staff to watch him for us to even use the restroom. C has pinched and bit Angela and instead of getting angry she has embraced him. She is so gracious and works extra hard to keep him as comfortable and happy. When he vomited everywhere and on everything and needed to be cleaned up she worked even harder to help and keep C and us parents calm. She always has a positive and happy attitude. Makes being in the hospital easier.
