SICU recently had a young woman that Life Connections followed for organ harvest. The patient was very young and had an abundance of family and friends at her bedside all throughout her stay. Andrew was extremely patient, caring and empathetic towards the patient and family. He went above and beyond to make sure every small detail was taken care of. Our manager orchestrated an honor walk for the patient. Administration, respiratory, nurses, managers along with friends and family lined the hall from her room to surgery and we silently prayed as she rolled passed. Andrew is a newer nurse and everyone was overly impressed with how well he handled this sort of emotionally challenging patient. He held himself to the highest standard, making sure everyone involved was taken care of. I can confidently say the family of that young girl will never forget the care and compassion Andrew provided.
