Last year, I was admitted with the recommendation of a full workup (blood work, more CT scans, etc.) after the BayCare Urgent Care did a chest x-ray and found a mass in my chest. I thought it was only a cough... one that I ignored for two months. That is when I was admitted to the ER and they told me that I'd be staying a few days. I hadn't really figured out at this point that cancer was a possibility, but Analeidy took the time to provide excellent patient education during the diagnosing process. During this scary and trying time, she comforted me and provided me with so much information and resources about cancer, its treatments, and the care team. She took the time to sit with me and empathize with both my spouse and me. She could tell that I was in a little bit of denial of my possible diagnosis and took the time to provide a shoulder to cry on and several pep-talks about how I would beat cancer! She made me realize that cancer isn't the end of the world and that with great nurses and providers I would be well taken care of and that I'd beat this!
Six months later, I sit here once again (recovering from my last and final round of Chemo) and I finally had the chance to thank Analeidy all over again for being an exceptional human being and the most Extraordinary Nurse! It takes a special kind of person to have a heart of gold like she does! I cannot thank her enough for all that she did for me! Thank you again! I would not have gotten through that period of time without you!
