Amy Zerfas, RN

Amy exemplifies the qualities of a knowledgeable and compassionate nurse. As a newly diagnosed cancer patient, Amy put my mind at ease, answered my many questions, and was always supportive and encouraging.

Amy communicated with my oncology team in Grand Rapids on several occasions. One time, she was instrumental in alerting them to my high fever, which led to my hospitalization in Grand Rapids to deal with a post-surgery infection. Another time, Amy caught the need for a urine test to establish a baseline prior to my starting a new drug in my chemo regimen.

Amy is engaging, personable, and always encouraging. She would stay late (after hours) without complaint when the course of a chemo infusion took longer than anticipated. Most importantly, Amy always took the time to thoroughly answer any questions I had about my treatment, which has been ongoing for some seven-plus months. I am grateful to her and appreciative that I can call Amy “my chemo nurse.”
