This is my first time of being in a hospital, I couldn't get near to be able to explain my anxiety and fear and not knowing what was going on, I was petrified. Amy, with her first words, put me at ease, she made me feel relaxed and assured within minutes of meeting her, you could just tell straight away Amy was one very special person. Amy explained in a manner which we both could take on easily and within minutes calmed both of us. Over the next few days of uncertainty Amy, not just with me but with the two other patients I shared the ward with, reassured, explained, listened to every concern. Hospitals are scary, you just want to be home and fixed, Amy by your side takes all that worry away. Amy is one very special person, she spent time explaining pacemakers in layman terms, she downloaded pictures of both, Amy talked to my wife without me knowing to keep her informed of everything Glenfield Hospital had planned, how they would do everything for me. By doing this calmed my wife. My wife said Amy has spoken to her explaining why I was having problems and why I needed a pacemaker, she not only helped me but more importantly helped my wife. I can't thank Amy enough, she is a true ambassador of Glenfield Hospital & NHS.
