Alex took care of my mother on her first day transitioning to comfort only measures. Alex was professional, responsive, and caring throughout the day. She was sensitive to my mother's needs as well as those of the entire family. Alex was able to treat the situation with dignity but was also quick to match the mood of the room; if my mom was joking, Alex could laugh with her. If I was tearful, she was compassionate. She stayed with my mom and allowed me a break to collect my thoughts. I couldn't have asked for better care. Beyond this, I know that Alex was fulfilling her duty as a nurse behind the scenes coordinating with RT, support staff, and palliative care to help my mom and my family move through the process.
