Each of you helped us with your light that beaned with empathy, kindness, caring words, humor, and loving actions.
Cancer is like a black hole, everything or everyone it touches gets sucked into its deep black existence. Its victims have no idea what to expect on the other side, in the dark. My husband, C, had battled cancer before but no battle is the same when it comes to cancer. This time his prognosis was bleak. When you hear one to two years life expectancy, fear drags you into that black hole I mentioned before. The staff at the cancer center was the only light we had on this dark journey. From the greeters at the door to the folks at the front desk, the MAs, the PAs, housekeeping, the nurses and doctors, and the managers, each of you helped us with your light that beaned with empathy, kindness, caring words, humor, and loving actions. C loved all of you. He had such a hard fight and not only were you there for him, giving him strength and support but me as well. I cannot thank you enough for being our family away from home. You are amazing. Until we find a cure for this horrible disease, keep being the light that you are. Cancer medications are both a curse and a blessing. Medicine may heal the patients’ bodies, but your compassion heals their souls and the souls of their families. I love you guys!
