"Adrienne was always there when needed. Through her "gift of gab" she kept me motivated, kept up my spirits in difficult situations, and was always smiling and that kept me smiling too. She had immense patience in teaching my wife all she needed to know to care for me at home. My room was always organized and tidy - that was one of her "things"- cleanliness! Her caring was beyond ordinary. For these reasons and many other small ones, she should receive the DAISY Award."

"I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease when I was in my teens, and now I am in my late 30s. I have been in and out of hospitals for years, with many doctors, many surgeries and many nurses. Adrienne is in a different category all together. I was first admitted to the sixth floor after a ten hour surgery. This surgery had me and my family travel from St. Louis to Wisconsin. This was my last hope to stop the progression of this awful disease.

For a while I swelled up so badly that I could not speak or see. I heard Adrienne's voice and I knew I was okay. She jumped in with an attitude of, "You are going to be fine and you are going to get better." Her optimism was and is contagious. I can honestly say that I have never met another nurse like Adrienne, a woman my family and I will NEVER forget. She is a gift, a natural healer.

Two weeks later, I was admitted again. I was so blessed to have nurse Adrienne again. She knew me and my family already; I was at ease. This stay was several days. Again she came in and gave me a hug and did everything she could to make things stress free for me. I can tell she not only loves her job, she loves her patients.

I was in Clinics recently and I turned around and I saw the most comforting face besides Dr. S, nurse Adrienne. She came in and gave me a hug, which I felt in my heart. Adrienne deserves this award and the recognition, for she has amazed me and given me more fire in my fight."
