While working with Steph it is easy to see her exemplify these qualities consistently. This last month, however, there was an event which really stood out to me.

...We had the opportunity to care for a young 17 year old girl who had been the victim of an MVA, and the family had made the decision for her to be an organ donor. Steph took the time to give extra attention to the young woman washing and styling her hair, painting her fingernails and toenails, ensuring she looked like herself for her family. Arriving for my shift, I noticed Steph standing with the family in the room encouraging them to share stories about their loved one. Taking the time to connect with her family and encouraging joy amidst the sorrow, as well as providing extra-special physical care shows how much Steph cares about her patients and their families.
